Recruitment Procedures:

The Partners shall place advertisement at the Job Centre and/or Law Society Gazette, which reflect the job and person description. A short list of candidates through C.V. applications will then follow. An interview shall then follow from the short listed candidates to determine whether the applicant meets the job and person specification. Factors taken into consideration during the selection process include the applicant's skills, knowledge, integrity and ability to work as part of a team.

Recruitment records for all short listed candidates shall be kept and maintained for a minimum of 12 months. In due course the partners shall ascertain whether the probationary period has been satisfactory or is to be extended. Subject to the successful completion of the probationary period, arrangement shall be made for a Contract of Employment to be issued.

Recruitment:

The firm will take steps to ensure that applications are attracted from both sexes and all races and from disabled people and will ensure that there are equal opportunities in all stages of the recruitment process. Job advertisements shall contain a statement of the firm's equal opportunities policy and where appropriate, staff responsible for recruitment shall receive training in equal opportunities and guidance shall be available to all staff.

All job applicants and personnel in the firm shall receive equal treatment in accordance with the Race Relations Act 1976 and Sex Discrimination Act 1975 and other relevant legislation.
